Japanese choba dansu (office chest) of unusual dimensions. The single section tansu constructed of sugi (cryptomeria) wood with keyaki (zelkova) wood facade. The top left hand corner with slatted sliding doors and a run of five stacked doors on the right. The center with hinged doors and a small Ko biraki do situated in the lower right. With good wrought iron hardware and Kakute style drawer pulls. Stained and lacquered. Good original patina. Late Edo Period, 19th century.
